Wood Star flooring did a great job refinishing the wood floors in our new home before we moved in. We had a very specific timeline that we needed them to adhere to, and they finished the job with time to spare. Communication was great throughout the process even when we still lived out of state, and the floors turned out exactly how we wanted them to. Pricing was also more than reasonable for the area. Would absolutely recommend to anyone on the Cape
Mels and his team did an excellent job on our floors. We made an appointment for him two months in advance and he arrived the day before the appointed time to start the process. He was very patient with our evolving needs during the process, he made some great suggestions along the way, and he finished right at the time he promised. The floors look great! It was a pleasure working with him and we absolutely recommend him and his team.

Alex and Mel did an outstanding job, start to finish! They are very responsive, were here when they said they would be here, explained the process and timeline clearly and patiently. I highly recommend them and cannot say enough good things about their work and my experience with them. I absolutely love how the floors turned out and I get so many compliments on how great they look! The floors are ash and the polyurethane had ambered and was so orange! Now they are gorgeous! Mel’s and Alex with crew were outstanding from the beginning to end of this huge project. We replaced all the floors in our house from outdated engineered wood and a lot of tile in the kitchen area, to beautiful white oak hardwood throughout the entire main floor, and upstairs loft area. The communication, quality of work and timeframe to complete the job, all surpassed our expectations. We got 2 other estimates, and theirs was right in the middle. Mels and Alex gave us great advice/feedback when selecting the wood, and other design aspects of the job. They don’t hire subcontractors and have their own crew, which is of course critical. If you need new floors, that’s pretty much all they do, and you won’t regret it. See before and after pics.
Mels and the team came out and quoted promptly and offered a very reasonable price. They started the job as planned and were in touch with any questions and suggestions. The results are awesome. We're extremely happy with the results. Repaired some water damaged boards and did a complete sand / refinish.
I highly recommend Mel! He and his team are overall one of the best workers I’ve ever met. I needed someone to do my flooring ASAP, and he made time for me, adding me to his busy schedule. Great job with refinishing hardwood floors. Some minor repairs were made and a few damaged sections were replaced. Mels kept me updated throughout the work, all at a great price.
The team sent to install new kitchen, hall and bedroom 2 hardwood and refinish the rest of the house by sanding and staining did an awesome job. There was a problem with subfloor and it was brought to my attention and resolved quickly, that is, they installed new support and subfloor where needed. After all that, they still managed to finish on time. Great job Wood Star! Nancy
Mel and his crew did a fantastic job refinishing our floor and blending new 3/4 red oak flooring into the existing old floor. You really cannot tell the new vs old and we are very happy with the blending and transition work. Mel also worked with us on getting the color just right for the stain as we were adamant we didn't want any of the pink or orange hues to come through from red oak. Overall anyone who hires Mel and Woodstar will be happy with the outcome and quality of work.

We would highly recommend Mels and Wood Star Flooring. They were extremely easy to work with, reasonably priced and the quality of their work really exceeded our expectations. We had some pretty significant water damage in a few areas and they replaced the boards and subfloor where needed and sanded and refinished the entire house. The floors look better than new and we are very thankful for the job the team did!

Wood Star Flooring installed red oak hardwood floors at our summer cottage on the Cape. They did excellent job. It's been three years - no gaps, no wavering. I liked oak registers that they installed for air circulation. Mels suggested matte finish instead of traditional oil based gloss. My wife and I really appreciated this type of finish. It is very durable, no scratches and looks great even after few years of use. I definitely recommend Wood Star Flooring to you

Mels and Alex of Wood Star Flooring did an outstanding job on our hardwood floors! They added hardwoods in our kitchen and tied them into existing 22 year old pre-finished hardwoods that were throughout the rest of the 1st floor, they also refinished 2 wide staircases and our huge 2nd floor foyer . We were pretty nervous of the new and old floors matching BUT you can not even tell the difference between the new v's old! We're super impressed! Mels and Alex were also extremely polite, caring and professional! They most certainly exceeded our expectations! Thank you so much! Our house looks brand new!!

Mels and Alex were timely in providing a quote for refinishing of our hardwood floors and they completed the job on time. Day two of the project we were able to come over and see examples of various stains that we could choose. Hi, my name is Richard, happy holidays. I am pleased to be writing this review for Wood Star Flooring. Alex and Mels did my kitchen floor with oak hardwood and had to match the existing wood floor in the living room and hallway. IT WAS SPOT ON. The work ethic of these 2 young men was 100%. I would recommend Wood Star Flooring 110% for anyone that wants a job well done and on time. At the end of every visit, (it took 2-3 times), they removed every bit of scrap, tape, etc. You would have never known they were there, with the exception of a new wood floor. If you want a great experience, by all means, use Wood Star Flooring!!
Alex and his team had to match an existing hardwood floor stain and finish throughout our home to a new hardwood floor stain and finish recently added due to a kitchen remodel. They worked diligently until they perfected the “recipe”. Floors look amazing. Alex is quick to respond and extremely conscientious. We appreciate all that you did for us!
We recently moved to a house that had white oak floors which needed refinishing and repairs. In addition, we had new oak floors installed in three other rooms. This company uses a two part catalyzed varnish. Google it. It costs more than other finishes and is more difficult to apply. But as a woodworker for 40 years, it is the best and I would use no other. These guys know what they are doing and do impeccable work. If you don't use them you're being foolish. 😊👍
These guys are great from start to finish. They installed our kahrs wood flooring in our newly built energy efficient home last fall. They did a perfect job in a short period of time as we were up against a deadline for moving out of our old house and in to the new house. The floors still look wonderful. They recently came back to rescue our deck and did a great job sanding and refinishing it in record time. It was a pleasure to work with Mels on my Oak/Pine wood floor project. He did a very good job on resending and staining my old oak floor in the bedroom's/hallway. The tricky part was to match the prefinished bamboo floor in my living area and he did it! He was very responsive, accommodating and finished my project on time. No dust. Alex did a great job. Really brought the life back into the floors after sanding away years of damage. I’d recommend the water based mix with a satin finish, it came out amazing.

We are very pleased with Wood Star Flooring. They installed a beautiful oak wood floor in our living room and hall that matches our dining room floor. They had some nice suggestions for blending the two floors and for custom framing around the fireplace. Really a top rate job and nice people to work with too.
Mels at Wood Star Flooring was a pleasure to work with! He and his colleagues had a tall order to replace flooring in an old building (1840). They did a great job. Our client bought a new home in Orleans and all of the wood flooring throughout the home needed to be refinished and they did an amazing job! Not only did the floors come out beautiful but they were great to work with. They were patient, cooperative and had great communication making sure we were were 100% happy with the final product. See the before and after below! The floors before were a deep cherry with an oil based stain which is very difficult to refinish, and they exceeded all expectations!
